Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) Information

You may notice the terms nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) replacing nursing continuing education (CNE). This is primarily a change in terminology as directed by our accrediting body, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This change is accepted by licensing boards and others who require proof of continuing education. Contact hours will continue to be the measure of credit earned, one contact hour of NCPD is the new term for one hour of CNE. Generally, one hour of content equals one contact hour.

The Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) will provide 1 contact hour of NCPD ( formerly known as CNE) on completion of this module. To claim NCPD, participants must receive a passing score of 80% on the module post-test and complete a brief evaluation of the activity.
